Hyde Park in Chicago: Foundation

PROBLEM

A new reinforcement concrete foundation was to be constructed for a property located in Hyde Park in Chicago. The foundation was poured with steel reinforcement in June 2015 for eight two-story townhouses. We were contacted by a local general contractor to provide construction project management services for the construction of the foundation.

SOLUTION

• Review the architectural and engineering construction documents.

• Develop construction schedule.

• Manage and direct the construction staff in the field.

• Manage the work in progress to ensure conformance with specifications and drawings, prepare field reports, verify work item quantities, approve change orders, facilitate project communication, maintain project records and coordinate construction meetings, prepare punch list and close out project.

VALUE

While ensuring that conformance with the construction project manual was successfully met, the project was managed efficiently, without delays, and completed ahead of schedule.
