Hinsdale a suburb of Chicago: Roof Replacement due to Hail Damages

PROBLEM

US-CES was awarded the project to replace hail damaged roof.  After 18 years of weathering the roof’s shingles had become loose and nail heads were popped outward.

The contemporary home is nestled in the northeast area of the village of Hinsdale a suburb a western suburb of Chicago and needed a new roof. The exterior walls are of stucco and decorative detail line the facades.

 SOLUTION

  • Surveyed the current condition.

  • Developed a scope of work.

  • Removed the damaged shingles.

  • Inspected roof’s wooden deck for rot.

  • Installed a new ice and water shield waterproofing membrane.

  • Install a 30 NDL architectural shingle roofing membrane (i.e. No Dollar Limit, manufacturer's warranty for roofing materials).

 VALUE

While removing the original roofing, US-CES discovered a section of the roof’s wooden deck rotted and replaced it without submitting a change order to the Owner.  The roof replacement was performed under the Owner’s tight timeline and within the contracted budget.
